Cassidy has been teaching his own students since he was 14. While in Jr. High School he was honored to be accepted to the renowned New York Drummers Collective, then studied at Jeff Berlin’s Player’s School of Music and then onto the Musician’s Institute, Los Angeles.

With a well rounded education and all the while teaching students, he was exposed and played with all varieties of gigs, shows and acts from Manhattan’s Jazz styles to the rock group Canon, as well as orchestral percussion and woodwinds, which he early on mastered.

Cassidy is known for hooking up with “the finest” and being invited to do so. He’s played/recorded with jazz Guitarist Greg Smith, Demo Team, Skip Spiro’s Little Big Band, Pianist Suezenne Fordham as well as many others including his own jazz quartet, consisting of Tracy Wannomae, Dave Price on horns and Justin DiCenzo on bass.

Cassidy has never lost sight of teaching, due to his strong and sincere desire to see another “potential” musician really accomplish their own personal goals and have the proper opportunity to do so. He does not see an end in sight, when it comes to teaching.

Cassidy continues to expand his abilities with lessons as he can fit them in and feels this is important for his own playing. Cassidy has a developed school curriculum which has worked very well in schools and is available for others.

Cassidy loves teaching and will continue to in the L.A. area and at schools with special arrangements. He specializes in all ages and all levels.
